Android 4.4, KitKat Update Release Date Set for October
Posted on 19:51 by Unknown

The Android 4.4, KitKat update release date is set for sometime in Oct.
The German KitKat team gave up the timeframe for the software's launch on their Facebook page. When they were asked about when it would be coming they quickly shot back with "Android 4.4 KIT KAT is available in October."
The Android 4.4, KitKat update could support devices with 64-bit chips.
A recent presentation that took place at Intel hinted at the company working together with Android on a 64-bit product that would run Google's OS. However, KitKat was not mentioned during the presentation.
Samsung has already confirmed that its future mobile devices will have 64-bit support. Apple's iPhone 5S will be the first official 64-bit smartphone on the market.
Intel's Bay Trail Atom chips offer 64-bit support, according to Android Authority. A future Samsung or Android product could be using these chips in the future.
ARM's next-gen of mobile chips will also come with 64-bit support.
Sundar Pichai made an appearance during the event to discuss Chrome and Android and spent most of his time talking about increasing the presence of its eco-system. He did not touch on anything related to 64-bits.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 could both feature 64-bit CPUs, according to a statement made by Samsung earlier this month.
"Not in the shortest time. But yes, our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality," said Shin Jong-kyun, Samsung's mobile business chief, adding that he followed the media coverage of Apple's new iPhone.
He also implied that Samsung's market share in China would remain intact despite the increase in brand awareness Apple made with the new iPhone 5C.
"Samsung understands that Apple intends to boost its mobile business in China, as well as Japan, meaning we should try harder in these countries,"

How to Install Ubuntu on PC
Posted on 02:48 by Unknown
Using a DVD?
It’s easy to install Ubuntu from a DVD. Here’s what you need to do:
Put the Ubuntu DVD into the DVD-drive
Restart your computer. You should see a welcome screen prompting you to choose your language and giving you the option to install Ubuntu or try it from the DVD.
If you don’t get this menu, read the booting from the DVD guide for more information.
Using a USB drive?
Most newer computers can boot from USB. You should see a welcome screen prompting you to choose your language and giving you the option to install Ubuntu or try it from the CD.
If your computer doesn’t automatically do so, you might need to press the F12 key to bring up the boot menu, but be careful not to hold it down - that can cause an error message.
Prepare to install Ubuntu
- We recommend you plug your computer into a power source
- You should also make sure you have enough space on your computer to install Ubuntu
- We advise you to select Download updates while installing and Install this third-party software now
- You should also stay connected to the internet so you can get the latest updates while you install Ubuntu
- If you’re not connected to the internet, we’ll help you set up wireless at the next step
Set up wireless
If you are not connected to the internet, you will be asked to select a wireless network, if available. We advise you to connect during the installation so we can ensure your machine is up to date. So, if you set up your wireless network at this point, it’s worth then clicking the Back button to go back to the last screen (Preparing to install Ubuntu) and ticking the box marked ’Download updates while installing’.
Allocate drive space
Use the checkboxes to choose whether you’d like to Install Ubuntu alongside another operating system, delete your existing operating system and replace it with Ubuntu, or — if you’re an advanced user — choose the ’Something else’option
Begin the installation
Depending on your previous selections, you can now verify that you have chosen the way in which you would like to install Ubuntu. The installation process will begin when you click the Install Now button.
Ubuntu needs about 4.5 GB to install, so add a few extra GB to allow for your files.
Not sure about this step? Windows users can use the Windows installer, which will install and uninstall Ubuntu in the same way as any other Windows application. It’s simpler and completely safe.
Select your location
If you are connected to the internet, this should be done automatically. Check your location is correct and click’Forward’ to proceed. If you’re unsure of your time zone, type the name of the town you’re in or click on the map and we’ll help you find it.
Select your preferred keyboard layout
Click on the language option you need. If you’re not sure, click the ’Detect Keyboard Layout’ button for help.
Enter your login and password details
Learn more about Ubuntu whilethe system installs…
…or make a cup of tea!
That’s it.
All that’s left is to restart your computer and start enjoying Ubuntu!

Downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.2 - 5.1.1 using iFaith
Posted on 01:44 by Unknown
Downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.2 using iFaith, iOS 6.13 came out as a nightmare to many of us who can’t imagine our iPhone without a jailbreak. Lets face it we all love jailbreaking and without it is like the end of the world, ok back to the point iFaith was released by iH8sn0w to save SHSH blobs from our devices, which in turn helps us to downgrade our firmware to a lower version from what we currently have. But the problem with iOS 6.1.3 is that it works only when you are using a pre A5 device, including iPhone 4 and iPod 4 Touch. Any new iDevices are not supported, the new version of iFaith has been released with fix for the APTicket Problem that arose on Cydia few weeks ago that crashed most of the SHSH blobs store on its server.
Using the following tutorial your can easily downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.2 :
- Download iFaith 1.5.9, extract the zip file and run the software in admin mode( Right Click Run As Administrator)
- When iFaith loads up click on Show Available SHSH cashes on server.
- Now, Connect your iOS device to the computer using the USB cable.
- Select the correct blob for your specific device and click on download.
- Now, on the menu click on Build – Signed – IPSW w/Blobs and download the SHSH blobs.
- After this iFaith will automatically begin to create the custom firmware file for your device. Let it finish the job on its own.
- When done, you now have to put your device in DFU mode, for this click on iReb to download it.
- Once done, Run iReb as an Administrator and select your device. iReb will now put your device in DFU mode.
- When your device goes into DFU mode, Press and hold Shift and click on Restore on iTunes and select the custom Firmware file we made earlier.
- Now, iTunes will restore your device to iOS 6.1.2 using the custom firmware file without any error.

Mark zuckerberg going to provide internet for all.
Posted on 02:01 by Unknown
For nine years, we’ve been on a mission to connect the world. We now connect more than 1 billion people, but to connect the next 5 billion we must solve a much bigger problem: the vast majority of people don’t have access to the internet.
I’m focused on this because I think it’s one of the greatest challenges of our generation. I’ve attached a rough plan I’ve written outlining the work Facebook is doing to solve this and how our industry can work together to connect the next 5 billion people.

Transform your iPad into a Home Theater with Belkin’s Thunderstorm iPad 4 Speaker Case
Posted on 20:18 by Unknown
Belkin has announced a new way to experience music, movies, and games on the iPad in the form of an integrated speaker case. This accessory, powered by Audifi technology, features front facing speakers and full bass response.
The Thunderstorm features a sound mode button which cycles through four different modes that optimize the output for gaming, music, movies, and conference calls. This means you can get the best sound in each situation with very little effort.
“Apple’s latest iPad with retina display provides the highest quality visual experience, and Thunderstorm Handheld Home Theater delivers amplified audio to match for complete content engagement and shareable entertainment,” says Nate Kraft, director of product management at Belkin. “It is a truly portable speaker case that seamlessly integrates with the iPad 4 to create a unified experience whether you are at home or on the go.”
In addition to the hardware device, there is an included app and a free month of Hulu Plus. Combine this with a built-in stand and a 10-hour battery and you have an impressive media experience.
There are several downsides to this device and the first is that it only works with the iPad 4 and its lightening connector. Another downside is that the size and weight of the added hardware will make gaming and holding the iPad for long periods of time harder.
Belkin lists the following features:
- Powerful, immersive sound from full range, high efficiency, ported speaker system.
- Your iPad sits seamlessly in the enclosure.
- Free Thunder app provides extended control with three different soundscapes
- Normal – Perfect for music and web video
- Wide – Great for movies. Broader soundscape with simulated accentuated middle channel to lend clarity and presence to dialogue.
- Super Wide – Spreads the soundscape out to its fullest extent.Games will absolutely explode off the screen.
- USB connector provides full access for iPad power and audio.
- Comfortable and easy to hold. Lightweight, perfectly balanced enclosure with comfort grip surface.
- Multi-fold cover provides variety of viewing angles.
- The Thunderstorm is currently available for $199.99 on the Belkin website.
Is Apple Moving to Plastic Bodies for Low Cost iPhone and iPad?
Posted on 20:15 by Unknown
Rumors of a low-cost version of Apple’s mobile devices have been in the pipeline for sometime now. There have been mockups, concept photos, supposed leaked images, and even a concept video of what a low-cost iPhone might look like. Until now, these rumors and speculations have been just that. Apple’s recent quarterly earnings call even suggested that the low-cost iPhone has already been on the market in the form of the iPhone 4 and 4S.
However, a recent report from the China Labor Watch shows that, at least one of Apple’s suppliers is working hard on a plastic backed mobile device.
Blog site 9to5Mac noted that a full report from an undercover CLW member describes a day in the life of a worker at Pegatron, one of Apple’s biggest manufacturing supply partners.
In addition to calling out a large amount of labor violations, the report noted a couple of things that point to evidence of the purported low-cost iPhone.
The statement from the CLW notes that Pegatron is currently assembling products for Apple, “Including iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and low-priced plastic iPhones.”
In addition, one of the journal entries from the CLW member states, “Today’s work is to paste protective film on the iPhone’s plastic back cover to prevent it from being scratched on assembly lines.”
Based on the information in the report, dated early July of 2013, the plastic backs for the low-cost iPhone are not yet in mass production at Pegatron. If other factories are on the same pace, it is likely that the cheaper model will not launch this fall, but is one of Apple’s many products that will launch “throughout 2014.”
While none of these rumors have pointed to a low-cost iPad, it is likely that Apple is working on a cheaper tablet as well. Currently, the company holds less than half the market share of tablets. One way to gain traction would be to produce a tablet that could compete better with the likes of Amazon’s Kindle Fire. A $250 iPad would be a big hit with consumers that are just entering the tablet market. Plus, I know I would love to have a blue-backed iPad. It would be so cute.
