Call of Duty: Black Ops is the most pirated game

Posted on 00:36 by Unknown

Call of Duty: Black Ops has been the fastest selling video games of all time, but that also racks the title a good spot in Jack Sparrow’s territory. The FPS game is now one of the most downloaded games, illegally.

TorrentFreak, a BitTorrent news site reports a scary 4.2 million download for Black Ops. That’s a very big number considering that the game has only been out not so long ago, and already beaten Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (3.96 million downloads), Mafia II, and Mass Effect 2 to take the notorious throne.

Thieves who own an Xbox 360 did their share in Black Ops stealing, downloading that console version 930,000 times, according to TorrentFreak’s numbers. Dante’s Inferno wound up being the most downloaded Xbox 360 game, with Super Mario Galaxy 2 sitting atop the most pirated list on for Wii owners. Well, the good thing is Black Ops is winning at nearly every corner.

No Gran Turismo 5 in your Christmas socks this time?

Posted on 01:44 by Unknown

Gran Turismo 5 continues to tease while enraging all gamers worldwide, for that one day when we can drive the Red Bull X1 Prototype around with our controller. The game was supposed to be released on November 2nd, but an announcement on the US Playstation blog said it was pushed back… again. The only clue to the new release date was that it would be available this holiday season. What does that mean exactly? Cancel your New Year party and camp outside the game shop for the game during New Year Eve, or after, or before. We weren’t sure. Even some of the e-tailers weren’t sure too!

Amazon lists the game for a New Year Eve release, whereas Gamestop stated that it’s going to be available on New Year Day. Best Buy has a release date for the 2nd day of 2011. This is all a mess! It’s so messed up, that even Wal-Mart removed the release date altogether. Have your fingers crossed that Polyphony wont’ decide to push it back to next year’s Christmas Eve!

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood Sneaks Up A Singleplayer Trailer

Posted on 01:13 by Unknown

As we all know that time flies so fast, the amazing Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is getting near to go live, in November! With the game out soon, it’s nice to finally see a proper trailer devoted to its singleplayer campaign.Er, wait, singleplayer?

This collection of in-engine footage not only shows you the real game, it also shows you Ezio’s extended suite of moves for the singleplayer component of the title, something that’s been largely (though not entirely) overlooked in the game’s marketing to date.

What a ’supposed’ 5-year old thinks of Team Fortress 2

Posted on 00:24 by Unknown

This is not drawn by a 5 years old kid, on his/her understanding of Team Fortress 2. By looking at the long picture, I think he/she has a better understanding of the game than I do. Also, if it really was drawn by a 5-year old la-le-lu-lo-li, isn’t that wrong? I mean, at the age of 5, getting exposed to such “violently” cute game…

Need for Speed goes back to its roots, Cops vs Speeders.

Posted on 04:32 by Unknown

As usual, EA releases yet another installment to their infamous Need for Speed series. But this time, it’s something different, yet familiar. EA has unveiled at E3 the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. A classic Need for Speed game of cops vs road bullies, but with new speeding machines.

There’s a career mode for single players, and the online gameplay for multiplayer mode. A new online network for NFS called the “Need for Speed Autolog” which acts like Tweeter for players. I wonder if there’s Ferrari in it this time, as there is in the classic old school Hot Pursuit. Previous NFS series has been quite some let down, with repetition of the styles. Most Wanted would be the only one that’s fun, as far as I can recall. Hopefully this new series will bring us back to the good old days of Hot Pursuit.

"At Criterion, we’ve been playing Need for Speed since it was first introduced on 3DO. We are honored and excited by the opportunity to reinvent the franchise for today’s connected audience,” said the game’s Creative Director Craig Sullivan in an official release. “Our goal has been to create cops vs. racers pursuits that are so fun, fast and exciting it really brings to life the adrenaline and intensity of the high speed cop pursuit experience with your friends.”

Time to kill some bad guys with your mates.

Posted on 04:24 by Unknown

I loved playing Assassin’s Creed 1 and 2; it was a great game running around like monkeys killing lonely guards with your hidden blades. But now you can share this fun with your friends. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is a multiplayer from Ubisoft. Though the father of this project is gone, the child lives on, and it seemed that child has grown into a fine young man. November 16 is the day, so let us all get ready for this graphic paradise with our uber rigs.

New Axe to come with Warriors of Rock!

Posted on 00:38 by Unknown

Last week Activision announced the latest installment to their list of games, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Guitar Hero has been a long way, as this is the 6th chapter. Alongside the announcement of the game, is the announcement of a new guitar controller. This new baby has been completely redesigned to have the theme of rock, as with conjunction to the title of the new sequel.

However, no new function has been integrated into this new axe. Instead, they have been hardworking at making customizable kit for the axe as ‘changeable kit’. Hopefully the removable ‘wings’ are sold and sturdy enough to withstand the jamming sessions of the fans. Durability is indeed very important in this business. Nobody would want to jam with rattling wings do they?

All essential parts are now contained within the neck allowing removable ‘wings’ to be replaced with alternatives, giving gamers the chance to tailor the guitar controller to their own unique styles.”

Good news to existing owners of the older axe, as they’re all compatible with this latest chapter of Guitar Heroes. The new axe is very typical: five fret buttons, whammy bar, strum bar, accelerometer. But then it’s a good thing to keep the controller out of over-complexity. But I do think that there’s no harm in adding a single or two new features into the guitar itself.

“Mass Effect” the next victim of video game – movie.

Posted on 23:57 by Unknown

Well, another video game is getting ready to be translated into movie soon. This time, it’s the sci-fi alien series “Mass Effect”. Legendary Pictures has got hold of the rights to the video game, from Electronic Arts – BioWare. Mark Protosevich, the writer of “I Am Legend” and also the upcoming “Thor”, is in talk to write for the movie, which will be produced by Avi and Ari Arad as well as Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.

“Mass Effect” is a sci-fi FPS game set in the year 2183, where gamers play the roll of the captain of the starship SSV Normandy, where he goes around picking up ally humans and fight off aliens.

Those involved in this movie seemed to be big-shots whom have massive experiences in handling gigantic projects. Legendary Picture was involved in those big blockbusters such as “The Dark Knight”, “300” and the latest epic remake of “Clash of the Titans”.

“Effect” will fall under Legendary’s co-production and co-financing agreement with Warner Bros., who will distribute the film worldwide. BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will serve as executive producers, as will Hudson.

As much as I like to watch video games going to the silver screen, I just hope that they don’t screw things up, again. Sad case for Doom, and Far Cry.
