DesCom Desktop Laptop Desk

Posted on 02:44 by Unknown
DesCom was coined by combining the words “Desk” and “Computer”. This design was created with “one-room people” who value future entertainment in mind. When connected to a basic home theater, it functions as a main computer and, when the main body is separated, it can be installed in the living room.

Completely dependent on the existence of a giant Samsung media centric laptop computer, this desk beautifully and simply integrates the computer (almost) seamlessly into the desktop surface.

Dell reshuffles marketing strategy, kills off Adamo lineup

Posted on 01:48 by Unknown

When Dell refreshes its dying XPS laptop lineup, the company somehow also reshuffles its marketing strategy. The company’s products are now split into three groups: Inspiron, XPS, and Alienware. Obviously the one missing here is the ‘Adamo’ fashionable lineup. Yes, when Dell went back to the drawing board for their business tactics, they killed the Adamo somehow. Somehow, this can be further proven by the sneaky disappearance of the Adamo XPS from Dell’s site — it’s completely killing off the premium brand and has actually tamped down volumes of the super thin machines.

Well, the ‘Adamo’ naming might be axed, but the spirit will somehow live on. Dell VP Ed Boyd stated that similar products will be coming to the XPS line early next year. This is actually part of Dell’s ‘ultimately cost hundreds of millions of dollars’ marketing campaign, according to Dell CMO Paul-Henri Ferrand who told Reuters.

Panasonic cranks out new 31 and 19 Series Toughbooks for Japan

Posted on 01:07 by Unknown

I’ve to admit that Panasonic’s Toughbook has never been that appealing to me, thought we can’t at all blame it to not win the beauty pageant, when it’s made to be in the war zone. Panasonic’s gone on a real tear here, releasing two new Toughbook models at once. While you grapple with the implications of such a thing, let’s get down to details.

The new 31 and 19 Series Toughbooks are 13.1-inch and 10.4-inch models, respectively, and as far as specs go, they both pack in a 160GB hard drive, up to 6GB of DDR3 SDRAM (with 2GB coming standard), and Intel QM57 Express chipset, and 1024 x 768 resolution displays. Not ‘very’ amazing as far as hardware advancement goes, but the processor seemed decent enough. Both come with Windows 7 Professional pre-installed, and the Toughbook 31 has a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 CPU, the 19’s go a 1.2 GHZ inside. Other than that they’ve both got Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, an HDMI slot, four USB ports (no mention of 3.0 thought), and an SD card slot. Of course, they’re also drop resistant in addition to being dust and waterproof, so you can bring them with you when you go for your next snorkelling chill out. They’ll be available next week in Japan.

HP TouchSmart tm2 now available with Core i5 setup

Posted on 03:41 by Unknown

HP TouchSmart has always been a drag for me. I remember the hu-ha that it made when the Windows Vista version came with 4GB and everyone said that it won’t lag like shit anymore, but what mess it made. Now the TouchSmart has been upgraded, with pure quad core power plant and Windows 7. Hopefully this combination will blow us out. The lovely HP TouchSmart has always been a joy to us, except for the lagging Vista OS that was so yesteryear.

Now you can get a new TouchSmart tm2 with a Core i5-430UM processor running at 1.2GHz, which is able to hit 1.73GHz with Turbo Boost. Besides, the 4GB of DDR3 memory sure would come in handy for the workloads. What’s more, you can play with this baby, as you can choose your setup between an integrated Intel graphics and a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450. Talk about HD goodness with DirectX 11 gaming potential while on the go. Sounds like a plan? Then hit the link and get yours today!
