Posted on 02:20 by Unknown
Your fingerprint is the perfect password. You always have it with you. And no two are exactly alike. So it made sense to create a simple, seamless way to use it as a password.

Apple confirms its developer website was hacked
Posted on 05:30 by Unknown
Apple has confirmed that the ongoing downtime on its developer website is an aftereffect of an intruder attempting to access personal information of its registered developers.
The Member Center on developer.apple.com lets registered Apple developers access the latest versions of iOS and Mac OS versions (including iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks beta), view developer documentation and other resources like WWDC videos, manage their submissions to the respective App Stores, and perform other activities. The Member Center has been down since Thursday for what initially seemed like regular maintenance, but as the downtime was extended, speculation emerged that it may due to security issues.
Apple has now confirmed that security of its developer website was indeed compromised but assured that 'sensitive personal information' was encrypted and couldn't have been accessed by the intruder. However, Apple said, information like developers' names as well as mailing and email addresses may have been exposed.
Apple explained the extended downtime by saying it was using the opportunity to 'completely overhaul' its developer systems, though the company did not give a timeframe on when the website would be accessible again.
Here's Apple's statement in full.
"We'll be back soon.
Last Thursday, an intruder attempted to secure personal information of our registered developers from our developer website. Sensitive personal information was encrypted and cannot be accessed, however, we have not been able to rule out the possibility that some developers' names, mailing addresses, and/or email addresses may have been accessed. In the spirit of transparency, we want to inform you of the issue. We took the site down immediately on Thursday and have been working around the clock since then.
In order to prevent a security threat like this from happening again, we're completely overhauling our developer systems, updating our server software, and rebuilding our entire database. We apologize for the significant inconvenience that our downtime has caused you and we expect to have the developer website up again soon.
If your program membership was set to expire during this period, it has been extended and your app will remain on the App Store. If you have any other concerns about your account, please contact us.
Thank you for your patience."

So here’s the latest news about the Apple iOS 7, it says that Apple is going to launched there completely redesigned iOS 7 with the upcoming iPhone 5S. It will hit the store on the late Q2 or early Q3. They might feature all-new Mission Control, Social Hub, Notification Center, and more.
“With the Worldwide Developer Conference looming just months away, all eyes are on iOS 7, and according to Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, the push to meet its development targets is requiring the company to repurpose resources from the OS X team. Ive is reportedly pushing a more modern, “flat” design for the next installment of Apple’s mobile OS.”

Gap between Mac and PC sales the smallest in 15 years.
Posted on 10:53 by Unknown

Apple has been on one hell of a tear lately. The company's signature iPhone dominates the smartphone market. Apple's new iPad is, by far, the best selling tablet being sold today. There's only one market where Apple is still playing catch up: Computer sales, an arena where PCs still dominate. But even there, Apple can find a silver lining: CNN is reporting that the gap between Mac sales and PC sales is the smallest its been since the 1990s.
Currently, PCs are outselling Macs by a ratio of about 20 to 1. That's a huge lead, but Apple has been steadily closed the gap over the last decade from its 2004 low of 55 to 1. When you factor in mobile devices such as phones and tablet computers, the PC vs. Mac gap closes to a mere 2 to 1, with Apple likely to draw even within the next year or two.
According to tech analyst Horace Dediu of Asymco, the secret to Apple's recent success is the MacBook. "The MacBook became easily differentiable as a 'better' laptop. It was not faster, did not have more storage or any key metrics being used to sell PCs. It was just better as an integrated product." And given the splash that the new MacBook Pro with Retina display is making in tech circles, Apple may wind up seeing yet another strong boost in their market share.

Apple delays white iPhone 4 into spring 2011! Nooooooo!
Posted on 01:06 by Unknown

Woot. Here we go again. Apple has somehow just crushed my desire to wait for the white iPhone 4, nearly. Many, including lots of engineers have stated that it’s ‘near impossible’ to manufacture white stuff, and some scientists even stated that white doesn’t exist. But it’s a sad news that despite many Apple products do come in white, the iPhone 4 may not have white colour version coming after all.
Yes, this news is very obvious. After a missed availability date in July and another delay after that to end of this year, Cupertino has once again pushed back the manufacture of the white knight iPhone 4, this time spring shot into spring of 2011. Wow, that’s very far away. There’s no mention of why, but they’re still dealing with the same manufacturing woes they’ve had from the start. By the time mid-2011 rolls around, it seems probable that the release will be butting up against news of the iPhone 4’s successor, or at least a CDMA version of the phone. Yes, you might want to give up the wait, and go for the black, if you really want the iPhone 4. I’ll just probably go and buy some white paint, or perhaps some spray cans.

Skype finally updated for iOS 4
Posted on 03:43 by Unknown

Finally we see Skype being updated for iOS 4. What does this mean? Better graphics and interface for retina display, but more importantly, background VoIP! Yes, now you can use your 3G connection to call your friend using Skype, for free! Sadly it’s only for 3GS and 4 users (of course).
A notification window will pop up when you’re called or messaged, and you can use other apps while on the line chatting to friends, anytime and anywhere. Even on the lock screen, if you received a call, sliding to unlock your iPhone will take you immediately into the call. Sad thing is that video chat is still missing.

iPhone 4 can now be your emergency flashlight
Posted on 04:14 by Unknown

Well well well, what have we got here? Your new iPhone 4 acting as a flashlight? That’s not something Steve Jobs would want the iPhone to be. It seemed to everyone’s surprise that Apple would allow apps to have direct control of the iPhone 4’s LED flashlight besides taking photos.
Apple has always had the notorious trackback of blocking a huge amount of apps, just because they can. But approving the Flashlight apps in the App Store is truly a great big leap for the Apple’s filtering team. Have a good pat on your back boys! You did a great job in making the iPhone a great device during important times. Now I can swing out my iPhone 4 and use it as a flashlight to read the dinner menu in Isabella. What a hi-tech and expensive flashlight I have there.
DJ iPhone in da house yo!
Posted on 02:21 by Unknown

The greatness of iOS 4 is about to be shown to the whole world. Yes, the iOS 4 is so great, so majestic. Why? That’s because one of the 1,500 new APIs in the iOS 4 provides direct access to the iPod library, meaning music apps of all kinds can play your tracks in any funky way they want. Not convinced yet? Well this is great news for iOS 4 developers, but indirectly users of the iOS 4 should also rejoice. That’s because the flexibility of fooling around the iPod music library is so wild, that they can even scratch the iPhone. No, not literally go and scratch it like a kitten, but yeah, you will soon be able to scratch your iPhone like a pro DJ. Next time DJs around the world won’t need the bulky and old notebooks for club banging anymore. All you need is your iPhone with iOS 4, and you’re ready to club!
Early apps are starting to show up, such as this Flare Scratch, which is a new and simply scratch app that supports such functionality. This app would surely look good on the iPad. But being early, there’s the downside of kush. The app is still fairly un-optimized, thus there’s a bit of a waiting when loading up a new track, which means no nonstop scratching of your whatever-music. But don’t worry, as I’m sure there’s going to be more ‘scratching’ apps coming up, so stay tuned you wild monkeys!
Fring brings video call to iPhone 4.
Posted on 02:20 by Unknown

This came as another surprise lately. The FaceTime has been Apple’s prime baby in video calling, and it’s hard to imagine Apple approving 3rd party apps to access the front camera of the iPhone 4 for video calling. Fring has just updated their new ‘Fring for iPhone’ with support for the iOS 4, and added video call for the iPhone 4 using the front facing camera.
Now why would the Fring come as a surprise, is because it works over 3G. FaceTime only works over Wi-Fi at the moment, as Apple is still sorting out the data packaging and transmission with AT&T. I guess this is AT&T’s fault, with the badly hogged network. But surely FaceTime should simply work effortlessly outside of the States like Japan or UK, where the networks’ been great. It’s such a letdown that FaceTime can’t work over 3G. Perhaps Apple is yet to find a solution to optimize the FaceTime with 3G’s slow connectivity. Oh by the way, Fring’s video call works on other iPhones running on iOS 4! Yey to 3GS users.

Apple releases iBooks app for iPhone, iPod touch, officially.
Posted on 01:14 by Unknown

All the noise for the iOS 4, yet no love for the iBooks app? Apple has released the iBooks app version 1.1 in the iTunes app store alongside the release of iOS 4 this morning. The iBooks app is now available for iPhone and iPod touch, in addition to the iPad.
The iBooks app now supports PDF viewing, while boasting a range of other minor improvements and tweaks, including a new method to bookmark (complete with syncing across devices), your choice of white or sepia colored pages, more font options and, of course, “greater stability and better performance.”
Twitter ready to join the multitasking iOS 4 gang.
Posted on 00:49 by Unknown

As this is expected from the release of iOS 4 that many apps will be updated, the official Twitter app is already updated to support iOS 4 and multitasking. Directly, it means you can do whatever you want with your iPhone, switch back to Twitter, and check some updates, or just literally send out “Damn that guy is cute!” tweet instantly without re-launching the app. After the crazy tweet fest, you can easily leave the app at background, and continue at whatever you are doing, letting it cat nap at the back just like a good kitten. With the update comes along some “improved secure” tweeting practices. All that’s missing now is the “sent from Twitter for iPhone 4” tag that will increase your exotic points by over 9000, which many of you surely love to have.

Skype 2.0 ready for iPhone, but calling isn’t free.
Posted on 00:13 by Unknown

Skype finally announced that their 2.0 is ready for iPhone, which comes with support for 3G calls. But there’s a catch. Apparently Skype-to-Skype calls will be free, until end of August 2010. After that, there will be a ‘small monthly fee’ for Skype-to-Skype calls, alongside the operator data charges.
Sad case indeed, but never mind that, we should start blasting our iPhones with it now, since the summer’s here.
“Upgrades / improvements include:
- Call using your 3G connection. Skype-to-Skype calls on 3G are free until at least end of August 2010, after which there will be a small monthly fee (operator charges for data will still apply).
- Near CD-quality sound for Skype-to-Skype calls using wideband audio (SILK codec) on iPhone 3GS and 2nd generation iPod touch.
- Enhanced call quality indicator.
- Improved start-up time.
- Fast access to the dial pad from iPhone home screen.”
