It has a powerplant in the form of a 6.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that has 1,350 horses. Ouch! Bye bye Veyron. The top speed of this angel (or devil) is 275mph (442.5kph). Doesn’t beat the Veyron Supersport by a lot, but still it’s a staggering number.

The car is obviously carbon fibre based, but this is the first car to have the wheels to be built on a one-piece carbon fiber unit concept, and that’s about 13 pounds. Miles better than your magnesium rims. The whole car weights at only 2,600 pounds, giving it a power-to-weight ratio nearly double that of the Bugatti Veyron. Crazy stuff indeed. Carbon fiber is all over the Ultimate Aero II, with only some aluminium bracing for added safety and chassis rigid concern. Shelby SuperCars expected to sell it next year for $970,000. Well, let’s see how Bugatti takes this news.

AMD launching next generation of Radeon graphics cards next week, shipping by end of the year

The attentive gang over at Anand have picked out sweet news from AMD’s earnings call last night, citing CEO Dirk Meyer as saying “we will be launching our second-generation DX11 graphics offerings next week.” After announcing the new product line next week, AMD promises to flood the market with “hundreds of thousands of units,” which will be shipping before the end of this quarter — meaning you’ll have a Radeon HD 6xxx in time for the holiday gaming craze if you really want it. That’s great. Last time AMD had a crisis of shortage for HD5000-series when it was launched.



The AMD Radeon 6870 has a core clock speed of 900MHz with 960 stream processors, and 256-bit memory frequency GDDR5 at 1050MHz; effectively result in a frequency of 4200MHz. The HD 6850 on the other hand has a clock speed of 725MHz from the 800 stream processors. The GDDR5 has the same 256-bit memory frequency, but at a slightly lower 1000MHz, resulting in a total of 4000MHz effectively. If you look at the leaked 3Dmark Vantage score, the replacement numbering is rather odd. The HD6870 is a replacement of the HD5850 instead of the HD5870. Same thing goes to the HD6850, which will replace the HD5830 or HD5770 instead of the HD5850. Then again, AMD might change the naming at least minute, so take these with a pint of salt.

SteelSeries celebrating Cataclysm with new WoW MMO gaming mouse

It’s been two years since Steelseries launched a WoW-based mouse, and now they’re back at it again. This time it’s called a “Cataclysm”, to celebrate the upcoming expansion of Blizzard’s runaway success MMO game, the biggest in the world. Somehow the mouse reminds me awfully of a certain Microsoft mouse.



“Since the release of the original World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse in 2008, we’ve received feedback from thousands of World of Warcraft players, both Horde and Alliance, on how they’ve customized their World of Warcraft mice and what they would like us to do next,” said Bruce Hawver, SteelSeries CEO. “For two years, our R&D team worked hard with Blizzard Entertainment to incorporate the great feedback and to enhance the mouse technology and game integration. The new Cataclysm mouse is the result of that collaboration: it provides a wide range of customization options and delivers a more comfortable, intuitive, and ultimately better experience.”



The mouse has the similar advantage of its predecessor of close software ties to WoW itself, so you’ll have 14 programmable buttons that can handle 130+ preset commands, and the ability to store 10 character profiles in software and one in the mouse itself. The software also controls the LED lights running down the back and “four different pulsation levels” for an extra bit of flair and bling. The mouse will retail for $100 in December, launching alongside World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. So, Razer. What say you?

You can’t be late to class anymore in this scooter

Because this is the world’s fastest mobility scooter. Made by Colin Furze, this thing can hit 100kph (69mph). Doesn’t sound very safe to me. Imagine a scooter at that speed. Even my tiny car rattles like no tomorrow at that speed.

The scooter is actually a conventional electric model, but has fused it with a 125cc gas engine sourced from a motorcycle. The scooter was given by a friend.



He added: ‘I was told by Guinness that I could modify the engine but I wasn’t allowed to change the appearance in any way so I couldn’t give it bigger wheels or make it more stable.
‘I initially tried experimenting with battery power but I only got to about 30mph and the batteries died really quickly so I knew then it would have to be petrol powered.
‘I haven’t had any crashes but the wheel fell off when I was slowing down once. I’ve nearly been in the hedge a few times.’
The petrol-powered super scooter, which is British racing green, does 10 miles to the gallon and is nearly nine (9) times faster than an average mobility scooter which glides along at just 8mph.
‘It is quite scary when I’m driving it fast as the frame is pretty flimsy and designed for going along at slow speeds,’ continued Mr Furze.
‘You can’t take your eyes off the road when driving it as any rash steering decisions could make it flip over and the slightest dip or bump in the road makes it drift off course.
‘I was a bit nervous when I first started it up as I wasn’t sure if it would work, but it sounded good and got to 64mph, then 69mph very quickly.
