“Mass Effect” the next victim of video game – movie.

Well, another video game is getting ready to be translated into movie soon. This time, it’s the sci-fi alien series “Mass Effect”. Legendary Pictures has got hold of the rights to the video game, from Electronic Arts – BioWare. Mark Protosevich, the writer of “I Am Legend” and also the upcoming “Thor”, is in talk to write for the movie, which will be produced by Avi and Ari Arad as well as Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.
“Mass Effect” is a sci-fi FPS game set in the year 2183, where gamers play the roll of the captain of the starship SSV Normandy, where he goes around picking up ally humans and fight off aliens.
Those involved in this movie seemed to be big-shots whom have massive experiences in handling gigantic projects. Legendary Picture was involved in those big blockbusters such as “The Dark Knight”, “300” and the latest epic remake of “Clash of the Titans”.
“Effect” will fall under Legendary’s co-production and co-financing agreement with Warner Bros., who will distribute the film worldwide. BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will serve as executive producers, as will Hudson.
As much as I like to watch video games going to the silver screen, I just hope that they don’t screw things up, again. Sad case for Doom, and Far Cry.
