The Internet behemoth Google has been reported to invest between $100 and $200 million in Zynga, which house the infamous Farmville, and others like Mafia Wars. This should be interesting, as Google Games might come later this year with some swords and shield to have a fierce battle with Facebook over its social media dominance.
Zynga sure has proven itself as a capable leader in the Internet flash game that attracts Google to invest as a platform for the foundation of Google Games. Google’s strong intention to dive into this sector is further proven with a job opening for “Product Management Leader, Games” at their Mountain View campus.
With Google Me, the company’s purported Facebook killer, continuing to take shape by each day, this major investment in Zynga is just further proof that Google is making a very serious effort to hit Facebook where it hurt, namely, the farms. Time to prepare some bug sprays for your farms Facebook!
