Ice Straw

Posted on 00:42 by Unknown

Ice Straw, the straw made of ice. I’m sure that’s a lot of us looking for this or ever thought of this concept in mind. Get your juice cool with this ice straw, stir and suck. This unique food-grade silicon ice tray lets you make six 8″ straws in the freezer.

“…pop the inner straws into the mold, fill it up, freeze and sip away. When the ice melts, the inner straws become exposed and become regular straws and the inner straw is reusable.”

Priced at $10. More pictures after the break.

The Droid X got dissected!

Posted on 00:32 by Unknown

Looks like its getting into the trend, that there’s always mad scientists out there all over the world. Unlike us commoners who would only stare at our new and shiny gadgets in all their glory, there’s bound to be some people out there that is not getting enough drollness from just looking at their new toy. And the next thing they do is to get their handy tools, and start disassembling their precious gadgets like a doctor, just without the white pirate cap and the white mask that will cover their sinister grin.

Max from Droid X network, a blog dedicated to all goodies Droid X, videoed the whole gory dissecting process to have us look into the organs of the Droid X. Head up after the jump for the video. *Note: Not a problem for those faint hearted too!

Windows Live Essential Beta out, we’re testing it.

Posted on 00:27 by Unknown

Microsoft has just released Windows Live Essential Beta to the public, and we’re still testing it out. You can download your own Essential by following the link at the bottom. We’re still in the process of testing it out. It looks rather massive though.

Integration with Your Favorite Social Web Sites – share your activity with all your social network in a simple page
This is rather bold, and among the biggest changes involved. The Essential has added a ridiculously long list of web services and social networks into its support. Now you’re able to connect all your accounts from those social networks and simultaneously update all of them in Essential. You can even share your activities in Windows Live to those sites using Essential.

It’s best to head over to your Windows Live account page to control your privacy settings first, in order to have a control over whatever you would like to share.

Windows Live Messenger – gets a new look, the rather older ’simplify’ look is now gone.
Windows Live Messenger gets a revamped look, adding support for Facebook and MySpace. Now you can comment and see your friends’ updated status while being connected to Windows Live Messenger chat buddies. You can also add other people from other services like Google Contacts or LinkedIn, but they will have to accept your invite before you can communicate via Windows Live.

Windows Live Movie Maker – easily edit your videos and upload to YouTube snappily
Likewise with the updated Windows Live Movie Maker, it’s now much easier to publish your videos to SkyDrive, YouTube, or Facebook without much hassle. You can easily manage all your private videos, and easily share them on specific social sites.

Windows Live Mail – combo of Outlook and Word
The Windows Live Mail beta adds support for the newly redesigned Hotmail, besides other email services such as Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail. There’s not much else here except that it’s much easier to add your webmail, and Mail is a decent option for a Microsoft-built desktop email client without shelling out for Outlook. Looked very refined indeed.

Windows Live Sync – file sharing made easy!
Now this is also massive, to me. You can sync all your files that you wanna share across all your PCs in the network, as well as share it onto Microsoft’s online file storage service, SkyDrive. But it doesn’t stop there, as you can even sync your IE’s settings and your MS Office’s settings across your whole Windows Live platform, making office works easily accessible across all your networks. Talk about virtual workspace done right, if you set it up correctly. Remote access for your computers is also made available for Live Sync, though we’ve yet to test it out.

Windows Live Writer – crafted specially for bloggers
Something that I believe many bloggers will love, the Live Writer connects to majority of your blogging service sites like Blogger, Blogspot, Spaces, and Wordpress. Update your blog easily, without the need to login specifically onto that particular site, now this is really “Blogging made Easy”.

Nearly a million of iPhone 4 flies off from shelves on 1st day

Posted on 00:24 by Unknown

Apple is laughing till all its teeth dropped while walking to the bank, as all iPhone 4 was bought up by frenzy customers on the 1st day of launch. All iPhone 4 are sold out across the states, including Chicago, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Portland, Ore, Miami and Charlotte.

There are already 600,000 units pre-ordered either for pick-up or delivery (which is already delivered, mostly), and there are still reserved units for walk-in customers, which the numbers are not disclosed, but does not fall short of the half million mark. We’re also not counting those from foreign countries like in the UK and Japan.

Most customers started to queue up outside the shopping mall since Wednesday night. Some customers who did not do any reservations through online had to queue for 12 hours to even 18 hours just for the spanking new glossy black phone.

Apple spokesman Steve Dowling wouldn’t say how quickly stores would get replenished. “The demand for iPhone 4 is off the charts,” he said. “We are working hard to get them to everyone as quickly as possible.”

Making the shopping experience tougher, Apple and AT&T began taking reservations for the phone on June 15. They received so many that by the end of the day they stopped taking orders for 24th June pickup. Apple’s website now promises delivery by July 14.

Apple says it sold 600,000 in early orders, and Munster predicts sales of 1 million to 1.5 million phones by Saturday. The new iPhone starts at $199 with a two-year contract or renewal.

Munster calls the launch the “biggest” he’s seen for a consumer tech device. What happened? AT&T relaxed its qualifying rules for upgrades, Apple had a hot, cool phone and current iPhone customers salivated for it, says Tim Bajarin, an analyst with Creative Strategies. “It was perfect timing for an upgrade,” he says.

What a ’supposed’ 5-year old thinks of Team Fortress 2

Posted on 00:24 by Unknown

This is not drawn by a 5 years old kid, on his/her understanding of Team Fortress 2. By looking at the long picture, I think he/she has a better understanding of the game than I do. Also, if it really was drawn by a 5-year old la-le-lu-lo-li, isn’t that wrong? I mean, at the age of 5, getting exposed to such “violently” cute game…

Care to avoid jets full of zerglings when going to Korea

Posted on 00:23 by Unknown

In the name of gamers’ spirit, Korean Air has slapped Starcraft 2 liveries on 2 of their Boeing 747 jets. Talk about marketing going overboard. This seemed only possible in South Korea, where Starcraft has become something of a ‘national sports hobby’ for the Koreans. The crazy move was unveiled at a big Starcraft media event in Korea. Along with the announcement is a sponsorship deal with fast food chain Lotteria. I wonder what the agreement is about, or maybe they’re the ones responsible for the awfully scary in-flight menu of the Korean Air snapped at bottom.

Belkin retails HDMI to Mini DisplayPorts converter, with new AV360.

Posted on 00:18 by Unknown

Not a very popular market, but we’re now starting to see some LCD displays from manufacturers that provides mini DisplayPort which will eventually replace DVI port. Belkin has jump in to sell converter which takes the 1080P signal from the HDMI cable, and downgrade the signal to 720P for the mini DisplayPort, along with a stereo-out for the audio signal, though DisplayPort will soon carry audio signal too. The market for such converter also seemed skeptical, as not many has jumped over to the DisplayPort boat, and many displays are coming with HDMI ports despite the display size. With the price tag of $150, it doesn’t seem to be very encouraging.
