Asus announced the EeePad at Computex to fight off iPad and take some market up. But the specs are rather let down at the moment. The 12-inch EeePad runs on Windows 7 Home Premium powered by an Intel CULV Core 2 Duo; while the 10-inch model runs on Windows Embedded Compact 7 powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2.
- Both models run on a resolution of 1366 x 768.
- Both support 802.11b/g/n with optional 3G.
- 1080p H.264 decode acceleration is supported on both platform.
- The 10-inch EeePad will not support MKV currently.
It’s a sad thing that MKV support is lacked in the 10-inch model. Though Asus mentioned that they might integrate support for it in the near future, though how near is that, we do not know.
